Mardi Growl Parade 2009

Mardi Growl Parade 2009 was a HUGE success! We have over 500 dogs walk in the parade-that's 3 times as many as last year! Yipee! Here are just a FEW of the many photos that I took the day of the parade:

The golden retriever puppy is Hope. She is a Wilderwood Service Dog and was sponsored by PetSafe! I can't wait to document her life as a service dog, beginning as the cute, fluffy puppy she is now!!

Elaine Hendrix, star of The Parent Trap, joined us to showcase adoptable pets available at Young Williams Animal Center.

And there's Marley!! Actually, his name is Rudy, but he played one of the Marley dogs in the movie Marley and Me! He was the grand marshal of the parade!!

That's my Rowdee - all dressed up and ready to party!!

Spanky the Pug is owned by Randy and Jenny Boyd. Randy is the President and CEO of Radio Systems Corporation.

You can view the rest of the photos at www.jenniehuettel.smugmug.com
All of the proceeds from photo sales will be donated to Young Williams Animal Center!

Be Creative

I am finally feeling better! I was home and in bed for 3 days last week-sick! YUCK! Normally I would do anything to be able to stay home and work on my photography, but not last week! I had no motivation to do anything but sleep! I am rested up and getting back into the groove of things. Glad to actually have a desire to work with my photography again.

This first compilation is of my family..... I just love them!!

The next two are dogs from PetSafe Village Doggie Day Camp:

There are a lot of new and exciting opportunities happening with PetSafe Village in 2009:
  • Satellite doggie day camp location on Kingston Pike on the top of Bearden Hill coming late 2009
  • Marley, the cake eating dog from Marley and Me, will be the grand marshal of the Mardi Growl Parade on February 21st
  • Possible Doggie Fashion Show featuring local adoptable pets at Women's Today Expo in March
  • PetSafe participation in the Knoxville Marathon (hopefully next year we will have a doggie walk as well!)
  • PetSafe Village will also have a booth set up at the Dogwood Arts Home Show

So..... all of this, along with my photography..... looks like I've got a busy year ahead of me!

Maddie needs a home

A letter from Maddie.......

"Hi! My name is Maddie and I need a forever home! I am a 2 year old female Beagle/Dachshund Mix (we think!), and I weigh 20lbs. I was found in Rockford, TN without a home. My foster mommy tried to find my owner and even looked for a microchip, but no luck. I am super sweet, am crate trained, very food motivated, and get along well with my foster brothers and sisters (doggies). I have only been around one cat, and I seem to shy away from her. I am scheduled to be spayed in a couple of weeks. I am heartworm negative and am up to date on my shots. I need to go to a home where I can cuddle on the couch with you but I definitely need a fenced in yard. I am a very good jumper, so if you want to train me in agility I would LOVE it!
My foster mommy works at PetSafe Village so if you want to come visit me I’m usually there with her! Just call her at 865-712-7892 or wakehound52@gmail.com, her name is Jennie!"

She is the sweetest girl ever and is staying with me until we can find her a perfect home! I would love to keep her but 4 is enough for this girl! =) Please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested... Thank you!

Catching up....

I guess it really has been a while since I've posted photos here! Sorry to all my followers! (If you aren't a follower, look to the right of this post to subscribe!!) I have been super busy with holiday shoots and post processing before the holidays! Here are some photos from a few of my shoots lately....Houston, a lab, was a great model! She just loved the camera and was a perfect little girl! Her mom was so happy!

This next shot is all I can show you from this shoot right now....it is a Christmas present and I don't want to ruin the surprise, but just look at that nose......

Aubrey and Katie are two rescued Golden Retrievers and are the sweetest girls! They love each other so much! Thanks Cheryl for letting me document the girls personalities with the camera!!

I will post more soon, I promise! In the meantime, check out my website for galleries of recent shoots, www.jenniehuettel.smugmug.com/animals . I hope everyone has their holiday shopping finished...Christmas is only 11 days away!!!

Holiday Photos

It's Holiday photo time! Saturday was a very eventful day in Downtown Knoxville. After enjoying the wonderful weather on the Tennessee River Waterfront, we hit the studio for some Christmas photography. It was pretty strange taking Christmas photos when it was 65 degrees outside! Regardless, the dogs didn't seem to care about the weather--they were happy to pose for the camera to get some extra special doggie treats!

Ellie Mae also known as Mrs. Santa Paws

Hops also known as Santa's Best Reindeer

Max also known as Santa Paws

One happy family....

I am booking up fast for holiday photos! Be sure to get your session scheduled soon to ensure delivery of your photos before Christmas! A surprise print of man's best friend makes a great gift! Just don't wait until the last minute!!!!
*A special thank you to Amy and Blake for their assistance at the shoot! I couldn't have done it without them!*
